I Should Be a Professional Competition Show Result Predictor.

The season finale of The Glee Project aired on Sunday night.  Though it's not the finest show out there, I've been watching it because I've been intrigued with the judges' evaluation methods, as I've mentioned before on this blog.  Back at the beginning, I predicted that either Matheus, Damian, or Sam would win the whole competition simply because they're the only contestants who bear no resemblance to any current Glee characters.  In the finale, two of my picks (Sam and Damian) were in the final two, along with Alex and Lindsay.  I didn't particularly care for Alex and Lindsay because they seemed a bit snooty/fake to me, so I was rooting for my picks to beat them.

Go, nice kids!  Beat those cool kids at their own game!

At the end of the episode, after the contestants shot a music video and performed great final songs in front of the judges, the judges had the tough task of choosing which kid would win a 7-episode arc on Glee.  In fact, it was too tough of a task for them to handle.  So they chose two winners: Damian and Sam!  That's right, both kids are getting written into Glee because the judges couldn't make up their minds.  Good for them!  Not only did the nice kids win, they solidified my uncanny ability to get in the judges' heads.

Muahahaha.

Actually, I was pretty sure Damian would win something because he makes a brief appearance in the audience of the Glee concert movie that came out about two weeks ago.  Yes, I saw it, but that's not the point.  The point is that the movie, which debuted weeks before the end of The Glee Project, basically spoiled a chunk of the show's ending.  Why would we care about a non-winner of the show enough to see their face in the concert audience?  It's only relevant to see them if they won.  Therefore, the fiendish masterminds behind everything that is Glee were subliminally getting us ready to see Damian on Glee by slipping his face into the concert movie.

Anyway, because this is a feel-good show, no one goes home a loser.  (Except for, um, all those kids who already got eliminated... you know what I meant.)  Alex and Lindsay each won two-episode arcs on Glee, too.  So yeah, everyone is happy.

Congrats to everyone, especially Sam and Damian!

Now that The Glee Project is over (for now... season 2 is already in the works), I'm interested to see how well the show's winners mix with the regular Glee cast.  Will they stick out like sore thumbs in the crowd of seasoned actors, or will they make the show more real?  I guess we'll find out in a month when Glee starts again!
